Stephanie + Sam -Their fur baby Ru and custom printed tote bags made this relaxed Sunday wedding extra special at Studio Two Three in downtown Richmond, VA

The Story

We met online over 4 years ago.

The Proposal

Sam took me to Tarrant’s on Broad Street for drinks on Friday evening. We went there on our first date. After drinks, we walked past my old apartment building on Broad Street (right down the street from Tarrant’s) and proposed in front of the apartment building because that’s where we said goodbye on our first date. Then, he surprised me with a night stay at the Jefferson hotel.

The Dress

I got my dress at a shop in Warrenton, VA called Atelier Wedding. It was the first dress I tried on too. I honestly didn’t think I would ever want a strapless dress but I loved the lace detail and the corset. Especially loved the blush undertones in the dress.

First Look

We did not have a first look. We texted the night before but did not speak to each other all morning. I really want Sam to be completely surprised when we saw me walking down the aisle. I wouldn’t have done it any differently. I like that he was surprised when he saw me walking down the aisle.

Favorite Moment

It’s so hard to choose. I love that our dog Ru was allowed to be apart of it since he’s basically our child.

Advice for future couples planning their wedding

Remember that the ceremony and reception is a celebration and not a performance. I think people get worried about walking too fast down the aisle, or messing up their vows etc. And really take in all the moments. The wedding really does go by so fast.
