If you’re a Harry Potter fanatic, then this wedding is like a dream come true. The Story
We met through mutual friends that we both went to high school with.
The Proposal
Aaron and I went out to eat at Nacho Mamas then went to Browns Island. He said he wanted to show me where he kayaks. I was grumpy and didn’t want to get out of the car. He convinced me to finally get out of the car and we walked on the bridge (before the bridge went all the way across). We got to the end of the bridge and I was too busy looking down at the water to notice Aaron was holding a ring. I was so in shock he had to ask me to marry him 3 times before I answered. Best day ever!
The Dress
I found my dress at Alfred Angelo actually. I had a few dresses to try on and each one was beautiful but just didn’t feel right. When I put on my dress I immediately started crying (borderline panic attack!) and just knew this had to be the dress I started my forever in.
DIY Elements
For the centerpieces we actually took old books and wrapped them with printed paper to make it look like books from Harry Potter. My sister and mom actually handmade wands for each table as well.
Favorite Moment
I can’t say that I have a favorite moment from the wedding. Being able to celebrate the love with all of our family made the night amazing. My favorite detail was how our vision of a Harry Potter wedding shined through in all aspects of the wedding.
Advice for future couples planning their wedding
I would say to not sweat the small stuff! There are so many things that could go wrong but just remember the reason for the day. No matter what happens, at the end of the day you get to marry your best friend and start your lives together.
