The rolling pastures remain untouched other than the gentle steps of the Black Angus cattle and the winding road leading into Rock Hill Farm in Culpeper, VA. Heather and Kevin’s wedding appropriately had a tandem bike and rustic country details sprinkled throughout the day. From the groomsmen’s socks, DIY wedding cake made by the bride and groom, and the bluegrass band that had the dance floor hopping, this down home wedding was perfection.

The Story

We met on an online dating site.  It was love at first sight and we’ve been together for over 5 years now.

The Proposal

We went on a bike ride on Thanksgiving Day morning. Kevin took a detour to a clearing along the Potomac River where a blanket was set up with flowers, candles and champagne. It was so romantic!

First Look

We got up early before the day’s activities and found a spot on the farm to reflect on how far we had come.  It was just the two of us and not a formal first look, but it was very relaxing.

Favorite Moment

We danced to a mashup choreographed dance, with the wedding party joining in at the end.

Advice for future couples planning their wedding

We experienced so many emotions!  Lots of joy and awe. Of course, there were some moments of stress, but looking back at it all, it’s amazing what we able to accomplish, especially with all the efforts and help from our loved ones.
