A gorgeous fall day in October at Bandit’s Ridge nestled in the heart of Louisa, VA was the setting for Amy and Philips laugh out loud party celebration!
The Proposal
It was New Years Eve 2017-2018. We were at my apartment watching Dick Clark’s New Years Rock’n Eve. I was sleeping on and off. When the ball dropped, we did the normal kissing love you stuff. I looked at Phillip and said, it was going to be a great year! We were closing and moving into our first home in January. He then looked at me and said…. it’s just going to get even better. Pulled out a ring box and asked me to marry him. I then hit him and said are you F&$@?$@ kidding me! Ugly cried until he said “well?”
The Dress
I knew when I put it on it’s all that I wanted. When I walked out my best friend started crying. Then my Mom and son. Every time I put my dress on (at fittings) my best friend would just cry and tell me how beautiful I looked.
First Look
We did not do a first look. We loved waiting to see each other. Having that door opened and seeing your future husband’s face is priceless.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment was seeing Phillip at the end of the aisle. My top favorite was my boys hugging their new Step Dad in the small barn. They were all huddled hugging and my boys were crying. No words can express the feeling. Just priceless.
Advice for future couples planning their wedding
Don’t stress the small stuff. Everything will fall into place. No one will remember the small details. Cut out as much as you can so you can party and have fun!!
